Adriana Yadira Gallego was born and raised in Ambos Nogales, Sonora and Arizona.  In
1997, she graduated Magna cum Laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the
University of Arizona.  She studied painting and drawing in Tucson, New York City and
Guanajuato, Mexico with artists Alfred J. Quiroz, Bailey Doogan, Bruce McGrew and
Jane Dickson.  Gallego has exhibited her artwork nationally and internationally,
receiving many honors including the Border Ford Binational Painting Award and a
California Arts Council Grant.  In 2003 her paintings and biography were published in
the Contemporary Chicana and Chicano Art book.  Last year, she had a solo show at the
Tucson Museum of Art where her work was featured as part of the Vistas of the
Frontera exhibition series.  Gallego currently paints and teaches in Arizona.
